Our latest investment in cutting edge technology

We recently took delivery of some of the latest professional scanning and printing equipment, including an Epson 3880 and for larger format printing an Epson 7900. These use UltraChrome K3 and HDR inks respectively for superb colour reproduction and fade resistance. We have also invested in a new Nikon Super CoolScan 9000 ED and an Epson V750 Pro scanner for scanning negatives, slides and photos. With the help of this fantastic new equipment we can scan, restore, print and digitise your photos to the highest quality standards and to your exact requirements.

How to preserve and store your photos

We all know that photos, negatives and slides have to be carefully stored in order to minimise and where possible eliminate deterioration due to environmental factors such as UV exposure, humidity and also some of the chemicals which may be contained in albums or other storage. We recommend that where possible photographic material should be stored in a cool, dark, dry location, in boxes or albums which are free from acid, chlorine and optical brightening agents. With this in mind, we have sourced archive photo boxes from a company who specialise in supplying major museums and conservation groups throughout the country. Contact us if you are interested in these top quality affordable storage boxes.

Working with the environment

We have always had a strong commitment to the environment and use ecologically sound products and suppliers wherever possible. These include recycled paper for our communication and business stationery and we continue to source new products and materials such as inks and toners to further reduce our environmental impact. We are currently testing two of Hahnemühle’s latest fine art papers using environmentally sound raw products, one uses bamboo fibre and the other bagasse fibre which is a combination of a by-product of sugar production and cotton. We will let you know the results soon. Our studio energy supplier is Ecotricity who produce their energy from renewable resources and we are investigating installing photovoltaic cells to generate our own electricity to further minimise our environmental impact.
